Your Notes Stay on Your Device
Everything you write is saved in your browser’s own storage on this device. Notes are never uploaded to Toolszu, so there is no account to hack and nothing for us to read.
Password-locked notes are encrypted in your browser with AES-256 before they are saved. Share links keep the note in the part of the address after the # sign, which browsers never send to any website — and you can encrypt that too.
Because notes live in your browser, clearing your browsing data, using a private window or switching browsers means they won’t be there. Download a backup from File → Backup all notes to keep them safe or move them to another device. Voice typing, if you use it, relies on your browser’s built-in speech service.

Yes. Every feature is free, there is no account to create, and you can keep as many notes as your browser’s storage allows.
Yes. Your note saves on this device a moment after you stop typing, and an emergency copy is kept if you close the tab mid-sentence. “Saved” next to the title shows that your latest changes are stored.
In your browser’s storage on this device. They are not uploaded to Toolszu servers.
Open the Notes list at the top left — every note you wrote in this browser is there, including notes from the previous version of this notepad. If you used a different browser, a private window, or cleared your browsing data, the notes won’t be available, which is why regular backups are a good idea.
Notes don’t sync automatically. To move all of them, choose File → Backup all notes and restore the file on the other device. To send a single note, create a share link.
Open the note and choose File → Lock with password. The note is encrypted with AES-256 in your browser, and the password is never stored or sent anywhere, so it can’t be recovered if you forget it.
The note is compressed and placed in the link after the # sign. Browsers never send that part of an address to a website, so the note exists only inside the link. You can add a password to encrypt it. Images aren’t included in share links.
